LOCAL OBSERVANCE OF INTERNATIONAL PEACE DAY

Celebrate International Peace Day near Ontario in a beautiful outdoor setting.

     This year International Peace Day falls on Monday, September 21st.  Echo Valley Hope near Ontario will observe it on Saturday, September 19th from 3-8 p.m.  They will also recognize the convergence with Rosh Hashanah.

     A silent vigil for peace will begin this event.  Fishtail Ensemble will play Romanian and world music.  Patchouli will also perform their music.  Bring blankets and chairs for comfort.  They ask a $10 donation.

Peace Walkers Arrested At Ft. McCoy

Nine were arrested at Ft. McCoy, Aug. 9th as they "crossed the line"--part of the Walk for Peace. WNPJ has the whole story and will follow with a press release soon. That link also covers the arrests last year that happened during the Walk for Peace non-violent resistance at Ft. McCoy. Below is a video of the group when 8 miles before the end of their journey. Nice folks talking about the need for peace. Thanks to Steve Hanson of UppityWis for calling attention to the events.
