A local effort involving numerous people works to alleviate hunger locally and internationally.

Help address hunger by attending the Empty Bowls fund raiser at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church on Saturday, October 17th from 4:30-7:30 p.m.

     Help address hunger by attending the Empty Bowls fund raiser at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church on Saturday, October 17th from 4:30-7:30 p.m.  The proceeds of this effort go to local and international organizations working on hunger and poverty issues.  Organizers suggest a minimal donation of $20 for a bowl of soup including the bowl.  They request $7 for a bowl of soup without bringing the bowl home.  Local restaurants will give the soup.  Anyone wishing to donate soup should contact Jane Siemon, janen@mwt.net.  Local potters contribute the bowls.  Any potters wanting to provide bowls should contact Devorahyahn@frontiernet.net.  Money donations can be sent to dsanderson@mwt.net.  Volunteers to work should approach ruthkittleson@gmail.com.  Discover more information about Potters for Peace at their website, www.pottersforpeace.org.
