This month's topic will be "A Fresh Start: Jumpstarting or Evaluating Your Business"
with Gary Smith, Business Counselor and Director, UW Platteville Small Business
Development Center

Whether you are an existing business owner hoping to take a fresh look at your
business goals for the new year or have an idea for a new business, this
presentation will help you sort through the requirements for starting a business and
evaluating a business idea. Smith will present tools and requirements to get started
and first steps in writing a business plan. Existing businesses will learn how to
evaluate their business goals in the new economy.  Information will also be provided
on helpful websites, professional resources, and financing options. Gary brings to
his presentation over two decades of experience in business as a manager and
consultant.  Management positions with Toyoda and Litton provided the experience and
understanding to undertake a Sr. Principle consulting role at PriceWaterhouseCoopers
working with international business clients from the manufacturing, retail and
service industries.  Working with start-ups, small, large and international
businesses, Gary's experience includes operations, operations planning and process
improvement projects, supply chain management as well as assisting clients in the
development of strategic business plans, marketing plans and customer service plans.

Plan to attend the Inventors and Entrepreneurs Club for a dynamic evening of
networking with lots of creative people and plenty of resources to help you start or
grow your business. Everyone is welcome and meetings are free and open to the
public.  The Prairie du Chien-Mcgregor-Marquette Inventors and Entrepreneurs Club is
supported by the Prairie du Chien Area Chamber of Commerce, the McGregor Marquette
Chamber of Commerce, Prairie du Chien Downtown Revitalization and the Crawford
